Bread


A project that I just suggested to CAFRA as a money making endeavour has to do with one of the many conversations we shared at one of the meetings. I was listening to some of the ladies talk about men who are put up for maintainance who do everything within their power to, they believe 'punish' the woman. One such tactic is to not pay their obligated amount. They do not see it as hurting their child, and so, the idea to do a project to raise money for the cause came about.
I kept hearing the word bread winner. I instantly thought that it would be interesting to get women to make bread in a variety of shapes. Shapes like earth Mother, symbols of fertility and other images of strong female forms. I contacted a friend who has one of the oldest bakeries on the island, and she is excited about the project. Hopefully I will be able to post the results here when we finally decide on how many pieces to do, whether we shall auction the pieces and other details.
